The 5 best movies you have ever seen?
Shawshank Redemption.
To hear Morgan Freeman deliver those cult dialogues in that godly voice.
"Andy Dufresne, who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side. Andy Dufresne, headed for the Pacific. Those of us who knew him best talk about him often. I swear, the stuff he pulled... Sometimes it makes me sad, though, Andy being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice, but still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty now that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."
Grave of the Fireflies
A 1988 Japanese animated film written and directed by Isao Takahata and animated by Studio Ghibli based the true story of a young boy and his kid sister after the world war II. Considered it to be one of the best and most powerful war films it also depicts how much animation is capable of moving an audience.
50 First dates
A 2004 American romantic comedy film starring Adam Sandler as a woman-chasing veterinarian and Drew Barrymore as an amnesiac. This one is my favorite purely because of Adam Sandler. It makes me laugh every time I watch it. I guess I have already watched it 50 times! :P
UP
I don't think I need to write why? Pixar created a better love story in 8 minutes than the any film maker could in 2 hours. The film is funny throughout with cult characters.
Roman Holiday
A 1953 romantic comedy directed and produced by William Wyler. It stars Gregory Peck as a reporter and Audrey Hepburn as a royal princess out to see Rome on her own. As you will watch the movie you will realize that every romance and comedy that we see in cinema today has been derived from this film. A very enjoyable flick to watch with family as well as on a date! :)
