What are some mind-blowing technologies that exist that most people don't know about?

Somebody figured out how to make a material that is 200 times stronger than the strongest steel, transmits heat into electricity, and is extremely lightweight. It’s discovery resulted in the Nobel Prize for Physics being given on account “for groundbreaking experiments regarding the two-dimensional material graphene.”
Graphene is literally two-dimensional. It is one atom thick and this form creates several fascinating properties.
So why hasn’t this material exploded? It’s so useful, it could make phones last a week, charge in seconds, and could provide unbelievable body armor.
Well, unfortunately producing it large scale is super hard. Peeling down graphite on a nanoscale to one atom thick is incredibly hard since just interacting with atoms at that level is nearly impossible. Stacking it quickly, atom by atom, is still the only reason why graphene hasn’t radically altered our lives.
Eventually, someone is going to discover how to create graphene quickly… and when they do, I’d recommend investing. It isn’t everyday that a trillion dollar market is created.

Sometimes, though, you come across a fan theory that is so well thought out, and fits so perfectly into the narrative, that you can  almost  convince yourself it's true Like ... What are some of the most fascinating instances of attention to detail in movies?

Forget all these Easter Eggs!  Christopher Nolan's Interstellar  takes the cake. Specifically, the kind of work that went into creating the fictional Black Hole,  Gargantua . ​​Now, Nolan could have asked the VFX technicians to whip up a random black spinning mass and unless you were too keen, you'd have had no idea whether it was an actual representation of a Black Hole.
